Fine finish and restoration

Built with curiosity, finished with care

J.P. Smith Builders is a residential remodeling company focused on exterior restoration, interior renovation and fine woodwork for timeless homes.

We work to combine traditional craftsmanship with modern construction methods — always asking how the work can be done better, last longer and belong more naturally to the home.

Meet the Owner & Lead Carpenter

Jaden P. Smith, Founder and Lead Carpenter of J.P. Smith Builders

J.P. Smith

Jaden Smith is a second-generation finish carpenter bringing fine carpentry to the New Hampshire Seacoast. Jaden’s journey began at the hand of his father, watching as he crafted bespoke coastal interiors inside homes on Cape Cod and the Islands. From a young age, an eye for proportion, size, and cohesion was melded to the highest standards in material selection and construction. A rigorous apprenticeship in the finest homes of the South Coast of Massachusetts cemented these values. These formative years are the bedrock for how J.P. Smith Builders approaches every home project on the New Hampshire Seacoast.

We work in tandem with the property owner and architect to bring your vision to life. Outside, local sustainable materials and weathertight design seek to draw out the charm of your home exterior. Inside, modern home energy schemes, custom millwork, mouldings, and inviting design seek to draw you and your family in. “A 100-Year Mindset” is a guarantee we make to you to ensure the highest level of performance for your home.

A small team with a strong network

Zac, a highly skilled, detail-oriented carpenter.

Zac

Zac has worked with J.P. Smith Builders for 2 years. Zac is a highly skilled, detail-oriented carpenter who found Jaden while they were sharing a mutual past-time. A former framer, Zac joined the team with a solid background in residential home construction. Zac’s strength is finding creative solutions to common carpentry problems which speed up the building process. He brings hustle and humor to the jobsite.

  • We work with a carefully selected network of subcontractors and tradespeople. The goal is straightforward: the right person for the right work, coordinated well and held to the same standard. We do the vetting so you don’t have to.
