The work

Nestled in the heart of Portsmouth’s South End, this challenging exterior restoration involved working with nearly 300-year old wooden siding, windows and sills. J.P. Smith Builders task was to tactfully remove failed siding and replace it with locally sourced cedar, which was milled and cut on-site to match the sharp bevels and unique scarf cut. It was our connections to local craftsmen, sawyers, unique joinery and knowledge of building history of the Piscataqua Region that guided this masterful exterior restoration.
